What do you mean by cross stitch material? Sewing? I do latch-hooking from time to time.
Counted cross stitch has different counts in order to make the pattern. The bigger the count the smaller the x's will.be, the smaller the count the bigger the x will be. I tend to go with a 14 count as it is a medium x on the pattern. Plus, they come in different colors the material does.
