I read a lot and I most often prefer the books to the movies. I have too many favorite authors to list, so I will start with Dean Koontz. I have been reading the Jane Hawk series and am currently reading the Night Window which is the 5th book in the series. I think Jane is the best character Dean Koontz has created to date.

I may be attracting much criticism here by my saying I like to read the Bible. I have read my share of books, but the Bible is said to be inspired of God. If so that makes it more noteworthy. I have read many versions of the Bible backwards and forwards trying to decide which translation is better. KJV is my choice. There I said it, so kill me.

You won't get any criticism from me, because I agree The Bible is a noteworthy book.I haven't read it as many times as you but I am currently on my 2nd reading. (Though on my first reading I did read KJV and NIV at the same time.) I am halfway through the book of Ezekiel and find it to be fascinating. But, then I have found all the prophetic books fascinating. Bible reading is how I start and end most days. I wish I had started reading it earlier...like in the days of my youth.
So, I will definitely not be casting any stones your way.

I do not read books anymore, my reading is online for the most part and I enjoy anything regarding US history, primarily start of 20th century to the modern day...

No attacks at all. If anyone attacks anyone for what they read than I will remove them. I have read the Bible many times.

I haven't read any of his so I may check those out next time I go to the library. I was reading a series by Fern Michael's Kentucky sunset, Kentucky Rich and Kentucky Heat. Also read Sara Gruen's books.

Misty,  have you read Sherryl Woods'or Beverly Lewis books. Lewis writes a lot on Amish fiction.

For the past couple years I have been experimenting with Amazon's Kindal Reader. It takes getting used to and not like holding a book in your hand, but has great benefits of vast resources really cheap. I like that I can open Kindal on all my devices anywhere and immediately access my huge library in the palm of my hand anytime.

Yep, I have that on my phone and tablet.  Have found a lot of good free books to read. I love the public library because the selection is great.

Hi Purplelady (thanks for making me feel welcome to post here) I am a book lover and I already enjoy this thread. It may take me awhile to get the hang out of how to post on this site. Anyway, I have read several of Ann Rule and Fern Michaels' books. I have not read any by Sherryl Woods or Beverly Lewis. I will keep them in mind as I am always open to a good book. lol
I started reading "A Time to Kill" by John Grisham. It is actually the first novel he wrote and was published in 1988. It was not really that long ago, but it is interesting to go back in time before technology took over. I am very much aware of the fact that nobody had cell phone and used VCRs. Then too, it has a very interesting plot.

I love the public library too and the bookmobile comes to my door every 2 weeks. I love bookmobile day. I tried to read on a Kindle, but I had to go back to books. One problem I had was not being able to settle on a selection. Just with Netflix, some days I spend the longest time trying to decide what to watch.

My husband and I were talking the other day and I said I miss the bookmobile coming in this town.
When I was a kid growing up, it came every 2 weeks and you could ask for books and they were brought to you. I love to read. I have a lot of books and I even read cookbooks. Lol.
I enjoy my Kindle or Amazon on my tablet but there is nothing like a real book.
