Had Spy vs Spy poster on my wall when I was around 10, about  the same time Star Wars originally came out, had numerous posters.

I was too far down the pecking order to have a wall when I was 10, lucky to have a bed.

I remember that, at least one of the few times school was out all week when I went. Was never out a month but it was cold. Was like in 5th grade at that point. We had flood issues in that era as well

Our school bus was a pickup truck with a wooden shell built on the back and wooden seats.

Wow.

I admit the buses I rode were of modern stock. We were not rich but never seen myself as poor and I was always around color TV and had the modern conviences of the day etc. never seen an outhouse either and had outside contact. My parents had much less, I guess I benefitted more from technology in that sense.

The big buses couldn't navigate the hollers so the routes were contracted out. We had no tv most of the time.

I accidentally shot my brother with a BB gun, gosh I was in trouble.  I was maybe 9 or 10, too young to be handling one

We had clay/mud ball fights, one team would defend the barn and the other would attack and yes it hurt!

A kid down the road got a slingshot for Christmas one year.   That really stepped up his game!

We made our own and as soon as we shot somebody or broke a window my mom took them and threw them on top of the house!

I made mine out of an old bicycle tube.  Good times!!  And we somehow survived!!
