I remember walking to elementry school cutting accross our cornfield in the winter as a short cut, but if it was too bitterly cold and windy I walked backwards. Luckily it was only about a half a mile. Mom & Dad both left for their factory jobs early so my brother and I had to set our alarm clocks and get our own selves up, dressed, breakfast, and to school on time. We never missed.
