I remember my brothers and I always got socks and underwear for Christmas. Our stockings always had fruit and one chocolate Santa. We got books, coloring books and crayons, and a toy. We always had a real tree. Christmas was wonderful. Later when I was older I learned that my mother would use green stamps to get some of our toys. My paternal grandparents would always fly to visit us wherever we were and the trip to the airport was a delight. My maternal grandmother would send us each a Christmas card with a $1.00 in it.

I had 4 cousins...all boys...and every year their 'real' Christmas tree was put up by Santa on Christmas Eve. The tree lights were shaped like little candles and they bubbled. Boy, did I like those lights. My tree never had those kind of lights.

That's my Childhood Christmas memory.
