The best I can tell, it was just a family's decision to put these up in the hopes it preserves the grave site.

My cousin is a mortician in Nashville. He tried his best to get me to go to mortician school. I was interested until he said dead people don't observe holidays and weekends.

I use to do the grave digging 6ft holes , the grave sites are to close together to use a back hoe so they did them by hand... I think i covered up about 400 bodies before i realized it was killing me as well...
